On August 19, 2023, two happy occasions at the Soennecken house coincided with the inauguration of the new “Teamhaus” residence building and the big family summer party. Mayor Christoph Nicodemus was also there and emphasized the importance of Soennecken eG for the Overath location.
Around 630 participants were there when the Team House, the new residence for the Overath logistics team at Soennecken, was officially inaugurated. On the occasion of the summer party, the invitation was not only for the employees, but also for their families. They all had the opportunity to experience the new building with its modern and high-quality rooms. The reason for the structural expansion was a growing number of employees in logistics, for whom more space was now created with a high quality of stay. The Team House was put into operation in March.
Gain for a strong location
In his ceremonial address, the Chairman of the Board, Dr. Benedikt Erdmann expressed a very personal thank you to the employees and emphasized: “Our mission to make working environments worth living in clearly starts with ourselves. The best confirmation that we have succeeded again five years after setting up the Soennecken WorkLab is the pride and the enthusiasm with which our employees now guide their relatives through the Team House.” The incumbent mayor of Overath, Christoph Nicodemus, was also there and was guided through the new premises: “As a sustainable company, Soennecken eG is an important factor for the strength of the Overath business location. With the modern expansion of its premises, the cooperative is once again demonstrating its innovative strength and attractiveness as an employer.”
And looking back, the Team House project was successful from the start: “Thanks to the good planning and organization of everyone involved, we were on schedule in every phase of construction,” sums up board member Georg Mersmann, who has been responsible for the logistics area of Soennecken since 2021.
A day for the Soennecken employees and their families Summer weather, a colourful entertainment program and snacks from the grill ensured the good mood among the festival guests. The little visitors also got their money’s worth and made use of the lively offers such as the quarter trampoline, the bouncy castle and the make-up station. As a founding member of the joint foundation “Chancen stiften”, it was natural for Soennecken to also include a campaign for a good cause in the program of events. Donations were collected as part of a raffle for disadvantaged young people in the region.
